At a Kings of Leon Concert.
<<< In August of 2008, Somebodyisfromhere.com wrote:

Still Radiohead was coming to a venue near him and they are one of those bands
you need to see once. With this in mind Somebodyisfromhere.com, who usually
writes about traveling to meet new people, instead writes about people --
musicians -- who travel every few days to play for new people.

Well, Kings of Leon is quickly joining this pantheon. They have a long
way to go to join Radiohead's level, but as far as putting on a show
goes, nobody is better suited.

They played at Philadelphia's semi-historic Wachovia Spectrum on
Saturday (April 25th). The venue will demolished in a few months.

For the uninitiated, The Kings of Leon is a four membered band all
with the last name Followhill consisting of three brothers and a cousin
whose lead singer, Caleb, looks like a cross between Charlie from
Lost
and a Civil War infantryman. (comparison to the left).
They are getting airplay for their songs "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody."

Hits aside, Kings of Leon is suited so well for a crowd because many of their songs start with contagious intros.  Examples of these songs
are: "
Knocked Up," "Crawl," and "Closer."

Caleb sings without moving around too much. He tells the crowd that he's surprised and grateful for the support they are receiving and
strokes the audience with aplomb saying, "I didn't realize how big this place was. It's going to be great to hear you sing along."

This place -- The Spectrum -- was the former home of the Flyers and Sixers before they moved to the Wachovia Center. As such, it was
the home of the
Broad Street Bullies Flyers and the Fo' Fo' Fo' Sixers.

The venue will be demolished and the land will be used to provide more entertainment options including restaurants. Meanwhile, Bruce
Springsteen will play there April 28th and 29th. The circus and Grateful Dead will perform in May.

The Kings of Leon
tour continues until September taking them throughout North America and Europe. They go to Virginia and North
Carolina next.

With new content weekly, Somebodyisfromhere.com takes a look at travel albeit from the perspective of
somebody who probably watched  a little too much TV as a kid (or yesterday). The site doubles as a venue in
which you can share stories or pictures from your vacations because, let's face it, your friends are sick of
hearing about it.
